How does share relate to the OSTP directive?

Recent US government initiatives to ensure public access to federally funded research have created a new and timely opportunity for the higher education community to better structure its strategies and systems for managing both data and publications. Independent of how federal agencies choose to operationalize implementation of the February 2013 Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) directive, the higher education community is uniquely positioned to play a leading role in the good stewardship of research. SHARE aims to work with federal agencies and other funders to maximize research impact by making a comprehensive inventory of research widely discoverable, accessible, and reusable.
